The name Dinah Washington, jazz historian Brian Priestly admits in the liner notes, evoked all kinds of comment because of her extravagant life -- but, he says, the life can't obscure her extraordinary talen and the impact that it has had on vocalists of the last forty years.
Teamed with a young Quincy Jones, who already had teh ability to capture a very soulful sound from his all-star band, this is one of the classic vocal-LP collaborations of its time. Presented here with seven bonus tracks not on the original release.
