It is a pity that the soubriquet 'The Voice? already belongs to the genius entertainer Frank Sinatra. Joe Cocker would otherwise be a strong contender for this title; after all, the rough Brit has a voice that sweeps through concert halls and goes straight to the heart of the audience.
Cocker and goose bumps - these two words belong together, whether he is crooning a soft pop ballad or movingly singing about the world of pain that is blues.
The performance on Ohne Filter - Musik Pur (no filters - pure music) took place in 1996 during one of the few live concerts during the Organic tour. Even the accompanying musicians were selected especially for that tour: Hutch Hutchinson (bass), Jim Keltner (drums), Greg Leisz (steel, dobro, lead guitar), Dean Parks (acoustic guitar), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Ken Stange (keyboards). A real rarity!
