Wayne Shorter - tenor and soprano saxophone Michel Petrucciani - piano Stanley Clarke - bass, electric bass Lenny White - drums Gil Goldstein & Pete Levin - keyboards Rachelle Ferrell - vocal on "Autumn Leaves"
On December 16, 1989, the unique all-star quartet of Wayne Shorter, Michel Petrucciani, Stanley Clarke and Lenny White gathered at Chelsea Studios in New York City for an evening of brilliant music that blended the new and the old. The project was the brainchild of Lenny White who added Gil Goldstein and Pete Levin on synthesizers for orchestral sounds. The supergroup masterfully performed new material, jazz classics by Mingus, Pastorius and Shorter and reinvented standards like "Summertime" and "Autumn Leaves" on which Rachelle Ferrell made her recording debut. |
