Launching his career in the early 1960s, Roger Whittaker had achieved worldwide popularity by the 1970s. With his avuncular appearance, rich baritone and unique whistling style the African-born British pop singer seemed a natural successor to Bing Crosby.
A regular presence on the small screen throughout the '80s, Whittaker has since amassed worldwide record sales nearing 50 million. His global success has resulted in a worldwide achievement of 250 Platinum, Gold and Silver Record Awards.
R. Whittaker Live is an outstanding in concert programme filmed live at the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen and is released on DVD courtesy of Wienerworld on 3 April 2006.
