This release presents Harold Land’s complete original 1959 quintet album The Fox (Contemporary S7619), which pairs the saxophonist with the great Elmo Hope on piano and the brilliant and enigmatic trumpeter Dupree Bolton, who would never record again with Land. Take Aim (Blue Note 1057), recorded the following year, has been added here as a bonus.
