• This compilation of vintage CLIFF RICHARD cuts is drawn from his twenty EPs, issued in the UK between 1959 and 1962.
• We’ve chosen at least one side from each, although in order to avoid overloading it with hits, we’ve only used one track each from his hits-oriented collections.
• Cliff was the second most successful artist on the British EP charts between their inauguration in March 1960 and their closure in December 1967, spending 432 weeks on the listings, with twenty-three EPs, four of which went to #1.
• His biggest was “Cliff’s Silver Discs”, which spent 57 weeks on the chart, followed by “Dream”, with 51 weeks, while “Expresso Bongo” was at #1 on the very first published EP chart.
• Incidentally, The Shadows were the most successful EP act (check out “The Shadows’ Jasmine EP Collection” JASCD1242) and they, of course, back Cliff on the bulk of the sides featured herein.
