Shaken Not Stirred is a collection of tunes that features all aspects of pianist David Benoit's gifts as a composer and arranger. Film scoring techniques ("Carmel"), uptempo smooth jazz instrumentals ("I Went To Bat For You"), and the classic acoustic jazz quartet ("Sarah's Theme"), the latter two songs both featuring saxophonist Eric Marienthal.
In addition, Shaken sports two distinctive vocal tracks - "Any Other Time", a pop chamber work co-written and sung by David Pack of the rock group Ambrosia, and a lovely ballad "Days Of Old" featuring the esteemed tenor Kenny Rankin.
