After Fashion's departure from the original trio of The Beatnuts, Juju and Psycho Les moved forward and released the group's second studio album, Stone Crazy, in 1997. The album featured the second appearance of an upcoming Bronx rapper, Big Pun, and the first appearance of another Bronx native, Cuban Link, on the third single "Off The Books." In the summer of '97, Will Smith dropped "Men In Black" over Patrice Rushen's "Forget Me Nots" and The Beatnuts did their take on "Give Me Tha Ass" over some blunts laced with hash. The album is pure 90s NYC Hip-Hop, full of intoxicating beats, off-beat humor, mixed with some wild street stories and a heavy dose of 40s and blunts. Out of print since it was originally released, Second Records, as part of their Producer Plug Series, is reissuing the album on Vinyl, CD, and Cassette.
