Sarah had everything a jazz singer could want: the lush tone and vibrato, excellent pitch and time, a fine range, and superb chops that enabled her to scat brilliantly. Not only was her scatting impressive from atechnical standpoint, it was inventive and musical as well.
The greatest female vocalist to emerge during the bop era, Vaughan's muscianship and talent were enough to make virtually every LP she made, whether aimed at pop or jazz fans, the worthy of her divine.
