| Primarily recognized as an award-winning jazz vibraphonist, Mike Mainieri's equally remarkable talents as producer, arranger, & composer have contributed to shaping the cutting-edge in music. In 1962, he joined the ground-breaking jazz/ rock group Jeremy & The Satyrs & performed with such monumental figures as Frank Zappa, Richie Havens & Jimi Hendrix. From 1969-1972, he was an integral part of the White Elephant Orchestra. During the late 70's, Mainieri founded the pioneering jazz-fusion group STEPS AHEAD. This unique DVD was filmed live at the Breckers Club in New York in 1982 and also includes a set by Richie Cole. |
