Not many of Luther Henderson's few recordings have remained in print over the years. That makes this two-fer reissue from Collectables all the more intriguing. Taken from the vaults of Columbia Records, Henderson's albums Clap Hands and The Greatest Sound Around have been reissued on a single disc featuring 24 tracks. Along with composing and arranging for Broadway, Henderson also contributed to recordings by Ellington, Billy Strawhorn, Andre Kostelanetz, and Richard Rodgers. Included are lite jazz interpretations of "Three Little Words," "Mack the Knife," and "On the Sunny Side of the Street."
