Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros - Trumpet
Chocolate is one of the greatest of Cuban trumpeters, playing in a jazz-tinged style straight from the '40s conjunto Golden Age (he had the trumpet chair in Arsenio Rodriguez's greatest band when Chapotin left it). This 1980 recording is pure, classic, wonderful conjunto, with ravishing trumpet, lots of tres and all the fixings.
