Again with the incredible rhythm section of Steve Gadd, Eric Gale and Gary King, Bob showcased his arranging and keyboard strengths here. Interestingly enough, in this 'BJ4' are several of the most requested songs for sampling by today's rap and hip hop artists from Bob's body of work, 'Tappan Zee,' 'Treasure Island,' and 'El Verano.' It is Bob James legend that he came up with the name 'Tappan Zee' while driving over the Tappan Zee Bridge between Westchester and New Jersey on his way to a recording session at Rudy Van Gelder's studio. "And who am I to argue with legend?" asks Bob with a wink.
