Based on an original story written by Her Imperial Highness Princess Hisako of Takamado, the musical tale Lulie the Iceberg is something of an anomaly in 1990's classical music: a new work composed specifically for children. Narrated by actor Sam Waterston, Lulie is the story of an iceberg drifting south from the North Pole, through various ecosystems, until he reaches the South Pole. While no Peter and Wolf, Lulie does have a positive, eco-friendly message and a wide range of sounds for budding lovers of classical music.
