  A La Carte serves up a New Orleans street band marinated with a hot salsa percussion section. The brass section stomps like the Dirty Dozen and moans like a Bourbon Street funeral. Led by Santana's Gali Sanchez, the percussion anchors the celebration with impact and fire!

  Active Decade: '90s Genre: Jazz Styles: New Orleans Brass Bands
  Formed in 1990, the A la Carte Brass & Percussion Band combines traditional New Orleans sounds with Latin salsa, hip-hop, and rock. All of these styles are used in their arrangements of popular songs. The group has 11 members. They released their first CD, Boogeyin, in 1994. Their second disc was 1997's Go-Go & Gumbo, Satchmo N Soul. They have opened for artists as diverse as the Radiators, Little Feat, and Dr. John.  ---Gary Hill, All Music Guide |
