BBC Radio legend John Peel has long cited The Undertones "Teenage Kicks" as his favorite song of all time. In this documentary, Peel takes a trip to Derry in Northern Ireland, tracing the history and evolution of the city by drawing on the influences, upbringings, and ultimate successes of The Undertones. Although their popularity was almost instantaneous, the band retained a touching naivety, playing to sold out crowds and then returning to their parents' homes just in time for bed. Peel delves deep into the cultural mores of the city, highlighting how the down-to-earth nature of its inhabitants kept the band's feet firmly on the ground. A moving, fascinating portrait of an influential act, the extensive documentary footage is interspersed with some amazing music, including "Teenage Kicks," "My Perfect Cousin," "It's Going To Happen," and many more.
Exclusive film of the band's reunion in 1999.
