This disc boasts the fine playing of the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields (under the baton of Sir Neville Marriner) who give a spirited rendering of Handel's Royal Fireworks music and Telemann's grand Overture in D major and Viola Concerto. The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and Karl Munchinger meanwhile leave us with stylish versions of the ever-popular Adagio by Albinoni, the second and third Orchestral Suites by J. S. Bach and Pergolesi's beautiful but underperformed Flute Concerto No. 2. Winter from Vivaldi's Four Seasons also features, Konstanty Kulka doing the honours on solo violin.
